The continuous spine
These run underneath every phase. They are what turn a study plan into a reputation — and they address the one gap your profile makes obvious: 768 followers, zero posts.
Cadence — how to actually run this
The full plan is roughly 180–220 focused hours — about 4–5 h/week on average. But it's lumpy: your BW/4HANA, Datasphere and SAC strength makes half the phases refreshers, while Databricks and the agent layer are real learning and carry most of the load.
Where the hours actually fall
| Window | Phase | Weekly | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wk 1–3 | 00 Foundations | ~4 h | Setup + two short courses |
| Month 1 | 01 Datasphere | ~3 h | Refresher — already certified |
| Months 2–3 | 02 Databricks | ~7–8 h | The surge — new ground: PySpark, Delta, lakehouse |
| Month 4 | 03 Analytics Cloud | ~3 h | Refresher — you already use it |
| Months 5–6 | 04 AI / Joule / Agents | ~7 h | Second surge + your differentiator |
| Month 6–7 | ✦ Cert C_BCBDC | ~5 h | Exam prep on top of Phase 04 |
| Months 7–8 | 05 Migration | ~4 h | Home turf — reading + a playbook |
| Month 9 | 06 Governance | ~3 h | Conceptual |
| Months 10–12 | 07 Architecture / career | ~3 h | Consolidate + write |
Plus the build habit — about 3 h per phase post, woven through, not stacked on top.
Three tiers — pick by honesty, not ambition
A week at the recommended pace
Mornings before the house wakes; the Saturday block is where the building happens — and it's non-negotiable.
My recommendation for you
Run the floor — 3 h/week on the high-leverage five. Your certifications already cover the refreshers; spend the scarce hours almost entirely on Databricks, agents and the cert. Don't pay for ground you already own.
Two forcing functions
Book C_BCBDC in month 4, dated for month 7 — a paid deadline is the only thing that reliably survives a busy quarter. And protect the weekend build block like a meeting — courses are easy to keep; building is what people drop, and it's your whole edge.
Foundations & environment
Set the frame and stand up a sandbox before living in theory for too long.
- Introducing SAP Business Data Cloud — strategy, zero-copy and data products in one sitting, not two months. SAP Learning · free
- Exploring SAP Business Data Cloud — the architecture, intelligent apps and Delta Share, end to end. SAP Learning · free
- BDC100 — the instructor-led architecture and positioning track, if you want the formal version. SAP Training
- Provision a SAP BTP free trial and get Datasphere / SAC access live on day one.
- A quick SQL refresher and a short Python / PySpark primer — only if either feels rusty. Databricks will lean on both.
Build
A live environment, plus your first post: "Why a BW/4HANA specialist is moving to Business Data Cloud."
Outcome
You can position BDC, zero-copy and data products in your own words.
Datasphere — consolidate & extend
You already hold the Data-Fabric certification, so this is consolidation, not first contact. Refresh against the current product and wire it tightly to your BW/4HANA world at Continental.

- DSP01 — the labs path, useful to re-anchor the modeling muscle. SAP Training
- SAP Datasphere & BDC Comprehensive — a hands-on BW → Datasphere deep-dive. Udemy
- Re-establish BW Bridge basics against a real BW/4HANA model — the kind you already maintain.
Build
Re-model one real, Continental-shaped dataset end to end and write up the gotchas.
Outcome
Datasphere is muscle memory again — and explicitly connected to your BW depth.
SAP Databricks + data products
This is the genuinely new ground, and the highest-leverage phase in the plan. BDC is now HANA Cloud + SAP Databricks + Snowflake; the lakehouse is where the ML and AI workloads live.

- Databricks Academy — PySpark, Delta and lakehouse fundamentals. Databricks · free
- Open-ecosystem patterns: Snowflake, BigQuery, Fabric / OneLake and AWS Athena zero-copy; Reltio / MDM as the golden record.
Build
A data product plus a Databricks notebook doing real analysis or a small model. Blog it — this is the artifact that signals the shift.
Outcome
You operate the lakehouse layer of BDC, not just the SAP-modeling layer.
Analytics Cloud — analytics & planning
You already know SAC as a tool. Here you point it at your new data products and push past reporting into planning.
- Exploring SAP Analytics Cloud — a quick re-grounding. SAP Learning · free
- SAC role-based learning — the structured path if you want depth. SAP Learning · free
- SAC training path — SACM21 (modeling) and SACS21 (story design) live here. SAP Training
Build
A dashboard and a planning story sitting on top of the Phase 02 data product.
Outcome
You design insight-driven dashboards and planning, not static reports.
Business AI, Joule, agents & MCP
Your stated edge is "BDC + AI." Most consultants will learn to use Joule; you should learn to build with it.
- Introducing Joule — the assistant, grounded in SAP data. SAP Learning · free
- Getting Started with Joule for Business Users — the consumption view. SAP Community · free

- Building Effective Agents — the field guide; Claude is now a model inside SAP's stack. Anthropic · free
Build

Outcome
You design and build governed AI and agent workflows on SAP data.
Certification — C_BCBDC
Your Data-Fabric certification lapsed in September 2025. This is its natural successor — and it now covers Databricks too, so Phases 02–04 carry most of the weight.
- Sit the SAP Certified — SAP Business Data Cloud (C_BCBDC) exam. learning.sap.com
- New format: scenario-based, AI-assisted, open-book, two hours — study the Learning-Journey practical exercises, not memorization dumps.
- Scope: BDC, BW integration, SAC, Datasphere and SAP Databricks.
Outcome
A current credential that maps exactly to what you built — replacing the lapsed one with the platform's flagship cert.
BW → Datasphere migration
This is where fifteen years become a moat. Turn migration from a task you execute into a transition you lead.

- The new agent-led migration tooling (Sapphire 2026, ~35% effort reduction) — be the one who runs it.
Build
A migration playbook or a short, Continental-shaped case study.
Outcome
You design and lead BW → Datasphere transitions.
Governance, security & trust
The part most skip — and the part that separates an architect from a builder.
- Datasphere security, authorizations and lineage (covered across DSP01 and SAP Help).
- Joule — Enterprise-Grade Trust & Security — how AI stays governed. SAP · video
- Reltio / MDM as golden-record governance.
- AI governance: grounding, auditability, who-can-ask-what.
Outcome
You control authorizations, lineage and AI trust — not just data flows.
Architecture & reference status
Twelve months in, the work shifts from learning to being known for it. The earlier tracks have been quietly building the proof; now you consolidate it.
- When & why to move BW → Datasphere — sharpen the architecture judgment. ACBaltica
- SAP Learning Hub — keep the subscription as a standing reference. Subscription
- Consolidate the phase posts into one flagship piece; start a real LinkedIn cadence; aim at the SAP Mentor track and a first talk.
Outcome
Positioned as a BDC + AI transformation lead — at Continental and beyond — not an implementer.
If time gets tight
Given where you already stand — BW/4HANA, Datasphere, SAC — drop the refreshers and spend the scarce hours on the genuine deltas. Do only these and you still ship the differentiator.
